At the Virginia side of Key Bridge is a small path that leads towards Roosevelt Island. It’s frequented with joggers, the occasional deer and lots of different birds. And when the weather and timing permits, I don’t mind wandering about the island, hunting for flowers with my Cannon. This beautiful bloom is from a crab apple tree and I was lucky to get this shot with a flower in the middle flanked with bright pink (almost compass-point buds) 🌸
