The last time we were in New York we stayed at a hotel across the East River near the Queensboro Bridge. A neighborhood in Queens with lots of old and flat buildings, but creeping gentrification was clearly visible in every corner of the district. Small shops with great breakfasts on the side streets, an area that had just celebrated one year without fatal shots, around the corner a small street party for kids, a perfect located train station for attending baseball games…
